Qualities Of An HDTV
An HDTV or high-definition TV is the next step in technology. That said, they are luxury items and can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars depending on what model you purchase. Some qualities differentiate an HDTV from other televisions or monitors. They include:
1. High Definition
HD or high definition has a higher quality picture than a standard TV. This is often due to the use of bigger, more efficient pixels on the screen. Once these are smaller (and have better quality), they are more easily displayed and read.
2. True Widescreen
Some non-HD televisions are advertised as being widescreen or widescreen. These are not true or full widescreens because they have a 5 to 10 percent bar on the bottom of the screen. These bars are designed to give the illusion of more viewing space and have been in televisions for decades. HD TVs have much more viewing space than standard TVs and do not need to use bars on the bottom.
3. HDMI Port
An HDMI port is a computer and HDTV link that uses a single cable to send both audio as well as video signals from one device to another. This allows you to connect different devices without having multiple cables and saves space by eliminating the need for additional accessories, such as ports or switches.
4. Ease of Use
HDTVs are more user-friendly than standard TVs. This is because of their larger size and technology that allows for simple operation. Generally, HDTVs can be controlled using a remote control or using a web browser connected to the TV. The latter option is especially convenient when you’re watching television on a computer or smartphone while at home.
5. Energy Saving
Most HDTVs use less energy than standard televisions because they are designed with more efficient circuitry, meaning they can last longer, saving you money in the long run by using less electricity.
